Get Better is a contemporary illustration collection founded in 2010 by Alex Foster. Alex works from his home studio on illustrated products, prints, clothing and commissions.
Alex started printing t-shirts in his first year at university in London to share an original take on illustration, making it more accessible and wearable. This led to him forming the products into a brand and building up the collections with printed tees, sweaters and tote bags.
New this week to the shop is the collection number 4 which features animal and patterned prints...
After lots of hard work, sewing, sampling and photography i'm very excited to say the pocket t shirts are online and ready to go! Use the discount code 'LOYALTY15' as a special 15% off launch deal.
The woodland and Leopards tees.
The brand new collection includes Leopards, Foxes, an Aztec pattern, Woodland and a Floral pattern. Photography was taken around Margate and features some of the local area such asMargate Retro general store, famous for it's second hand retro furniture and goods.
Huge thanks to Andrew Pepin for the photography, Emilios Farrington-Arnas and Sarah Harley for modelling, and everyone who came to the exhibition at Bernie's chocolate bar.
Nobrow publish stylish illustrated zines and artist books. Bicycle by Ugo Gattoni is one of the most intricate black and white concertina books I've seen; The level of detail in the huge fold out drawing is incredible. The same goes for McBess' Big Mother - A huge black and white A3 book full of fun characters and big scenes.
Robert Hunter's illustrated story books give a great sense of adventure and wonder, the pacing of his books work very well and his style with hand drawn textures and colours have been a huge influence on me.
These guys are masters of illustrated print tees. The people they commission fit in brilliantly and they produce some great drawings for print. They've been a big influence on how I make the illustrations and run Get Better.
With the new collection coming out soon I thought I'd write a bit about myself and how I got to this point.
